Contribution to Gautrain

One of the many construction projects in South Africa that is using increasing quantities of reinforcing rebar from Scaw South Africa is the Gautrain Rapid Rail Link. This mega transport pro-ject will, by 2010, link Johannesburg and Sandton with Pretoria via a network of ultra modern railway structures. The installation of the high-speed, 94 m long twin channel in Union Junction’s Rod-Bar Mil last year has significantly increased Scaw’s productivity, enabling it to keep up with demand for bar products. The twin channel provides for high speed rolling and discharge onto the cooling bed.
