WIRE AND STRAND

The Commercial Products unit of the Wire and Strand Division produces all wire that is sold into the commercial sector for further processing, e.g. screens, mechanical springs, bedding, cold heading applications, shaped wires, filters, steel wool and a host of other applications and end products which depend on high quality steel wire.

Through an ongoing expansion and modernisation program, the Wire and Strand operation is recognised today as a model of efficiency, where modern machines are blended with older equipment and provide a balanced output.

The primary products are high-carbon wire and strand, including wire and strand for the pre- and post-tensioning industry; high-carbon wire for the commercial industry and Scraper rope for the mining industry.
