Scaw’s Rolled Products division is the second largest supplier of long steel products in South Africa, operating an electric arc furnace to cast steel billets. The billets are then processed into reinforcing bar, grinding media feedstock, sections, low-carbon wire rod, high-carbon wire rod, reinforcing coil, mining anchor and rounds.
These products are sold either internally to the Grinding Media and Wire Rod Products divisions, or externally to a range of customers in the construction and manufacturing industries. Scrap metal is sourced internally from Scaw’s Scrap Processing Division, which operates the largest scrap shredder in Africa.
This facility includes collection and processing operations. All operational facilities are located at Scaw’s Union Junction site in Germiston, outside of Johannesburg.
