Christopher Davis

Interim Chief Executive Officer, Scaw Metals Group

Chris commenced his career in the Anglo American Group in July 2001 in the corporate finance team. During his tenure within corporate finance, Chris gained exposure to the full range of corporate finance activities across a number of business units and geographies within Anglo American plc.

In November 2006 Chris was appointed Head of Business Analysis and Reporting at Anglo Platinum Limited, managing a department that prepares key information for use by senior management, the Board and shareholders.

Chris was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Scaw Metals Group effective 1 August 2008 and assumed his current responsibilities in 2010.

John Kemble

Head of Human Resources

John joined Anglo American in 1981 when he joined Anglo Coal. Thereafter he joined Anglo Gold as a specialist in industrial relations, later assuming broader HR managerial roles.

He then spent a number of years in Anglo's managed heath care business before joining the Base Metals division as Vice President: HR, working on the newly acquired copper mines in Zambia.

In 2003 he joined the Ferrous Metals and Industries division as Head of HR for the Scaw Metals group.

Vaughan Firman

Chief Financial Officer

Vaughan Firman joined Scaw in December 2011 as CFO. Previously Vauhgan was with Netcare, where he won “the deal of the year" in 2006 in South Africa when Netcare purchased the UK based hospital operations General Healthcare Group. He was instrumental in Netcare winning numerous awards for best annual report in the healthcare sector.

Vaughan is a Chartered Accountant with both an undergraduate degree and two post graduate degrees in taxation and treasury.

Johan Burger

Head of Cast Products and Rolled Products

Johan Burger is a director of Scaw Metals Group. He has served the group since 1981. Johan started his career in the mining industry as an engineer prior to joining Scaw.

He holds a BEng in Electrical Engineering and a Government Certificate of Competency.

Markus Hanneman

Head of Wire Rod Products and Grinding Media

Markus is Head of Grinding Media and Wire Rod Products. In his capacity as Head of Wire Rod Products, Markus is responsible for Steel Wire Rope, Wire and Strand, McKinnon Chain, CWI, Flatherbright Steel, Fibres and the Distribution Network.

He is also responsible for the international operations that fall under the Wire Rod Products division namely: Afrope Zambia, Haggie Rand Zimbabwe, African Wire Ropes Namibia, PWB Anchor in Australia, Haggie Reid Australia. He also holds directorship in the African operations, PWB Anchor and Haggie Reid.

Jurgen Theiss

Head of Safety, Health and Environment

Jurgen joined Scaw South Africa in March 2009 and heads the safety, health and environment portfolio. Previously Jurgen was a candidate attorney at Smith and Partners.
